Stage 1: Sea - The Hamble to Jersey Equipment Yacht: Westerly Fulmar Name: 'Westerly Minuet II of Boss' Route The passage was 120 miles from Hamble Point Marina to St Helier Marina in Jersey. The route chosen was west through the Solent, past the Needles and the Isle of Wight. After crossing the channel it was through the Alderney Race and then around Corbiere to approach St Helier from the west. Stage 2: Air - Jersey to Tangier Equipment Aircraft: Piper Archer III Callsign G-CCWA Route Jersey - La Rochelle - Biarritz (Diversion from San Sebastian)- Valladolid - Jerez - Tangier The route selected was to track south along the west coast of France to skirt the western edge of the Pyrenees and then track as directly south through Spain as possible. Stage 3: Land 4x4 - Tangier to Imlil Equipment Vehicle: Toyota Landcruiser Prado Route The planned route followed the motorway network along the coast past Rabat and Casablanca. It was then inland to Marrakech and on to Imlil in the Atlas. Stage 4: Land on Foot - Imlil to Summit Jebel Toubkal Equipment Standard Route Standard route via the Refuge.
